What you get
Six prints in the correct size, or a digital code for an online application, or both. We check the head height, the background, the expression and the lighting against the published spec before printing. If it will not pass, we take it again.
UK and Irish applications
The two are not identical. The Irish passport service wants a slightly different head size and a different background tone from HM Passport Office, and getting them confused is the single most common reason an application stalls. Tell us which you are applying for.
Any country in the world
Not every country wants what the UK wants. Head height, image size, background colour and whether you may wear glasses all change from one country to the next. We hold the current specifications for the ones asked for most often here, including the United States, Canada, Australia, India, China, Nigeria, Poland, Lithuania and the Philippines, and we will work to any country’s published specification if you tell us which one you need.
Visas and ID
Most visa applications, driving licences, bus passes, student cards, firearms certificates and travel documents have their own dimensions. We hold the current specs for the ones people actually ask for, and can size to anything you bring in writing.
Babies and children
No appointment needed and no special setup required. Babies can be photographed lying on a plain sheet, which is what the guidance allows, and we will keep going until we get one with the eyes open and nothing covering the face.

Do I need to book?
No. Walk in any time we are open and it takes about five minutes.
Can I smile?
Not for a passport. A neutral expression with the mouth closed is the requirement, though a natural relaxed face is fine.
Do you do the digital code?
Yes. You get a code to type into the online application rather than posting a print.
Can you do photos for a country that is not the UK or Ireland?
Yes, any country. Tell us which one when you come in and we will take it to that country’s specification.
