Damaged photographs repaired by hand and reprinted. Tears, creases, water marks, fading, foxing and missing corners. The original comes back untouched.
PriceQuoted per photograph after we have seen it. Most sit between £25 and £60.
What can be fixed
Most things. Tears and creases are straightforward. Fading and colour shift are straightforward. Water damage depends on whether the emulsion has lifted. A missing face is the one genuine limit, because rebuilding it means inventing it.
How it works
We scan the original at high resolution and work on the scan, never the photograph itself. You get the original back exactly as it came in, along with a restored print and a digital copy.
Colourising
Black and white photographs can be colourised if you want, though plenty of people prefer them left alone. We can show you both before you decide.
Memorial work
A large share of this is for funerals and anniversaries, often at short notice and often from the only surviving print. Tell us the deadline when you bring it in and we will be straight with you about whether it is achievable.
Common questions
Do you keep my photograph?
No. It is scanned and handed straight back.
How long does it take?
Usually a week. Faster for memorial work, tell us the date.
Can you work from a phone photo of a photo?
We can, but a proper scan is far better. Bring the print if you still have it.
Bring it into the shop
Most of this is quoted once we have seen it. Call in to Monaghan Street, or ring and describe what you have.
